SK17i Mini pro upgrade with ICS feedback

$

0

I have recently upgraded to ICS on my Sony Ericsson SK17i Mini pro

Initially I was overwhelmed with the new features like

1. smart search of phone numbers

2. Responding to calls through a Message when unable to take a call

But over the last 3 weeks, I am facing these issues. I really would like to go back to my Ginger Bread and would term this upgrade pathetic. This upgrade has caused more performance issues and non-responsiveness than good.

1. Camera shots quality has degraded

2. 3G freezes up the whole screen, making it unusable for a while atleast less than a minute, before you can actually be able to able to browse

3. Battery backup is the same as earlier. It drains to 50% by the end of the day, if you are browsing on 3G and just checking emails on gmail

4. Try to type a new message. Blank screen and doesnt clear for a while, before you can actually send the message

5. Try to dial a number, same situation. Blank screen for a while

overall conclusion: I would say...stick to "Ginger Bread"

Software Update in ICS 4.0 for neo

$

Hi,

I updated my neo to ICS 4.0 , Build Number is 4.1.A.0.562 . But looking at the Sony's Android 4.0 page. It shows the latest available software is 4.1.B.0.587.

When I connect the phone to Sony's PC Companion, it says that my software is up to date. Why is this happening? How can I update my software? Will I have to do it manually from the Sony's site?

Kindly give your suggestions.

Thanks.

FOR A GOOD PERFOMANCE OF YOUR PHONE IN ICS PLEASE FOLLOW THIS STEPS-

Before upgrading to ics you must factory reset and format your sd card(backup your imp files) and upgrade via pc took 45mins-1hours or as of your connection speed.

After upgrading to ics factory reset your phone and format your sd card again.

use a class 6 sd card for better perfomance

if you found battery drainig issue you can dry out your batter full and recharge your battery to 100% without break. anyway ics uses more battery in some cases but sony is fixing this issue in every update

SMS led issue-try using sms awake app from play store until sony fix sms led its working fine

File transfer problems in Android ICS 4/0/4, Xperia U

$

Hello-

I recently upgraded my Sony Xperia U from Android 2.3 to ICS 4.0.4.  Ever since, I've been experiencing difficulties transferring files to and from my cellphone - adding or modifying music using MediaGo, and copying or deleting cellphone video using Windows Explorer.  I am aware there are some posts elsewhere about USB connectivity issues but I have been unable to find a solution to the problem.  I am able to connect the phone, and view its internal storage; but receive an error message about the device either having been detached or having stopped responding when I try to delete content.  Two of the recommended solutions to this issue are altering the Connectivity setting in the Xperia settings - which is not an option, the section only listing trusted devices and offering an opportunity to install the computer programme - or activating USB debugging mode, which I have done without success.  I believe that the issue is that I am unable to switch between MTP and MSC modes, and I am yet to find a solution allowing me to do so.  I'm using Windows 7, and my phone is otherwise functioning well.  Does anyone have any advice?  I'm reluctant to get into rooting, which I understand might offer a way to change the USB connection mode at the command prompt level, but I am unaware of how to do this with the software.  Any help much appreciated.

Sony xperia ion stuck after upgrading to 6.1.e.2.68

Hi,

I have purchased the sony xperia ion HSPA today. I have received my mobile pre-loaded with ICS. I have got a system update 6.1.e.2.68 in my notifications tray. It has completely downloaded the update. After clicking on install, the device restarted and it has installed the whole update. But after that when device is trying to start, the screen is stuck at "Android is upgrading.... (starting applications.)". I have waited for more than an hour, but no luck.

Is this any common issue while upgrading? Is there any easy way to revert back to the previous version or succesfully complete the update?

Thanks,

Vijay

You should give an option for the screen rotation in tools for screen rotation. For this we have to go in setting and change it. Plz think about it. If we get it in tools we can do it very fast and it saves our time and ram.

Neo V goes in Boot-loop after Bluetooth Switch On on ICS

$

I have updated my Neo V to ICS from GB. As informed by Sony ICS ROM is bit slow and performance is affected too & Sony also informed customers that Xperia 2011 Phones are not going to have JB update. I AM OK WITH THAT.

But they never informed us that ICS ROM would be unstable to the extent that it can fail at any point of time. The Latest ROM of ICS goes in Boot-loop afer some switch on & off of Bluetooth, I have to flash the phone thrice thru SUS. I am unable to understand if a ROM can crash at any point, then what's the difference between Stock ROM (which needs approval at various points, at lest Sony Says that). If a ROM has serious Bugs which needs to be removed a OTA update is must. Dear Sony you need to learn to keep your promises by not just releasing ICS but a stable ROM of ICS.

If these are the service standards & build quality of Sony phones I think one should prefer cheap china phones instead.

Can some one from Sony help me doing away with boot-loop due to Bluetooth on ICS?????
